Hobson Museum is a Great Stop on Montana Bale Trail
The Hobson Museum will be open during the “What the Hay” day from 10 – 5 and is a great stop along the Montana Bale Trail! The Hobson Museum is located on east side of Main Street next to the Hobson Library. There will be a continuous slide show featuring bale creations from previous years which are fun and entertaining. The Hobson Museum is a location where you can leave your ballots for the PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD.
Stop in and enjoy the museum, the Hobson Library Book Sale next door, enjoy the fascinating history or just relax on the benches on the beautiful grounds. Visit the Hobson Museum website.
During 2006 and 2007, the Friends of the Hobson Library and other community members joined forces to move the donated, historical Dunn Drug Store, built in 1909, to a location near the library to serve as a museum. In 2006, Dale and Kathy Longfellow, owners of Hobson Insurance, purchased the building to obtain property to expand their business. Because of the historical value of this building—home of Chapter 76 of the American Legion for over half a century– the Longfellows generously donated it to the Friends of the Hobson Library for the purpose of developing a museum. The Friends of the Hobson Library physically moved this historic building to a site which they own next to the Hobson Library.
